What support does HostingCity provide?
We provide support for a myriad of issues for our customers.
For our hosting customers, we support the physical hardware their accounts run on,
the control panel that manages them, the operating system supporting it all, and
the network that connects the server to the internet.
In all cases, our service provider supports the power and cooling systems in place to
prevent power surges, spikes, and failures, and to prevent overheating issues.
We do not provide support for any of the following:
- Scripting issues, including debugging and optimization -- there are many online forums
dedicated to discussing and troubleshooting scripting issues that can be consulted. If our
servers are running normally and are not causing an error or performance decrease, we cannot
assist in debugging. Contact your developer or webmaster for support.
- Networking issues outside our network -- we have no control whatsoever over the internet
or of the network once it leaves our datacenter. We work closely with our provider to help
track down performance and connectivity issues, and resolve them quickly whenever they are
under our control (or our provider's). However, if an issue occurs outside that scope, we
cannot correct or support it.
- Application installation and configuration -- you are welcome to run any software on
your account or server (provided it meets the terms of our Acceptable Use Policy and Terms
of Service agreements), but unless it was included with your account, we cannot provide
any support for third-party software installed by our users. For such products, you should
contact the vendor for support.
- Advertising and marketing -- we do not provide support for marketing or advertising
your websites.
- Workstation configuration -- while we provide documentation for configuring your POP3/IMAP
mail clients, FTP clients, and so on, we cannot provide technical support for your workstation
or internet connectivity. You should contact your system's manufacturer for assistance with
configuration issues, and your network provider for connectivity issues.

- Other issues -- if our servers and network are determined not to be contributing to a
problem you are experiencing, we may not be able to assist you in resolving the problem.
We'll do our best, but our resources are limited.
